Valentines Day Overtime Victory

On February 14, 1999, the St. Elizabeth 5th Grade Girls Basketball team earned an exciting overtime victory over St. Josephs of Cottleville, 5th grade basketball team.
During the fast paced first half, the lead see-sawed back and forth numerous times, with the half time score ending at 18-18. Only a vision of things to come.
In the second half, St. Elizabeth lead by as many as 5 points, but, St. Joe battled back to tie and eventually take the lead with less than 2 minutes remaining in regualtion play. With a great full court press and several key free throws, St. Elizabeth was able to come back and tie the game. The game went into overtime with the score tied 36-36.
The Cougars went on to outscore St. Joe 7-2, ensuring an exciting overtime victory.
